Combine Incense Sticks Safely: Choose Fragrance, Holder and Decor

Incense sticks need three things: moderate dosage, a holder that catches the complete ash fall and a clear area without flammable decoration. More fragrance does not create a better ritual.

Choose one fragrance direction

• Woody sandalwood or cedar for a quiet evening.
• Fresh herbal notes for a short daytime pause.
• Resinous notes for reflective rituals in a well-ventilated room.

Holder and decor

A Gravity or Scala holder can be the design object. Add no more than one stone, low vase or cup. Keep paper, textiles, plants and dried flowers outside the ash and heat zone.

Safe sequence

1. Open a window briefly.
2. Place the holder on a stable, fire-resistant surface.
3. Light one stick and extinguish the flame fully.
4. Never move the holder while incense is burning.
5. Ventilate after use.

Avoid scent overload

Do not add a scented candle, diffuser and room spray at the same time. An unscented candle at a safe distance is enough for light.
