Flat white, cappuccino or espresso: which cup size?

Espresso, flat white and cappuccino are different drinks, and the right cup depends on the amount of coffee and milk you prefer.

Espresso

Espresso is a short drink, best served in a small cup. Large cups can lose heat quickly and are not a like-for-like substitute for an espresso set.

Flat white and cappuccino

These milk coffees typically need more space than a single espresso. Compare volumes and the care information of the cup rather than relying on a brand name.

Latte macchiato and larger drinks

For a larger coffee, the Costa Nova Grespresso latte macchiato cup (380 ml) is a currently available option. It is not sold as a four-piece espresso set.

Choose for daily use

1. Decide which coffee you drink most often.
2. Check the cup's volume, material and care instructions.
3. Confirm availability before buying multiples.
