How the resins differ

Amber

A dense and powerful profile. Use very sparingly and combine with lighter materials when desired.

Copal Negro

Dark, spicy and woodland-like. A few small pieces are sufficient for a pronounced incense moment.

Copal Blanco

The softer copal option for quiet meditation and less weighty blends.

Siam Benzoin

Sweet and warm with a vanilla-like character. It melts when heated and can become intense quickly.

White Dammar

A bright resin with a delicate citrus impression. It is approachable for beginners and combines well with Copal Blanco.

Incense screen or charcoal?

An appropriate incense screen usually releases scent more slowly and gives better control. Charcoal creates considerably more heat and smoke. Start with a very small quantity in either case.
