We can speak all Kölsch - that's how the Cologne language is spoken

Finally! Next Sunday, the day has come – the first "Daach der kölschen Sproch" (Day of Cologne dialect) will take place in Cologne. Yes, you heard right, an entire series of events is dedicated to our beloved mother tongue. Whether young or old, local or newcomer – everyone can brush up on their Cologne dialect and learn new words on this day.

I have to admit, sometimes I find it difficult to find the right words in Cologne dialect. But don't worry, that will change. Because on this special day, there are tours, workshops, and even a Cologne language course all over the city. So no more excuses! Now's the perfect opportunity to finally learn Cologne dialect properly.

I'm especially looking forward to the tour through the old town. There, we'll not only learn the meaning of typical Cologne sayings, but we'll also be able to try them out right there on the spot. Imagine us all shouting "What's up, dude?" together. It's sure to be a lot of fun!

And if you still haven't had enough, you can test yourself in the Kölsch quiz that follows. Who knows the most words from the Cologne dialect? I'm really excited to see who will take home the title of "Most Cologne of All."

To round things off, of course, there's a hearty Kölsch beer in the brewery. Because what would the "Daach der kölschen Sproch" be without a delicious Kölsch? That's right, it would be like Christmas without gingerbread. So let's raise a glass together and celebrate the language that makes us Cologners so unique.
