Cheese balls with caramelized nuts, cranberries and parsley – your alternative to Advent classics

Gingerbread, cookies, and mulled wine are a must during Advent – but how about something different? These cheese balls are the perfect change for your holidays. Whether as a snack at an Advent celebration, as an eye-catcher on a cookie plate, or simply as a snack between meals – they're quick to make and incredibly delicious!

This is what you need for the cheese balls:

  • ½ tbsp butter
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries
  • 3-4 sprigs of parsley
  • 230 g goat cheese
  • Salt sticks (optional)

Here's how to prepare them:

Caramelize nuts:

Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Roast everything, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes until the nuts smell delicious. Then spread them out on parchment paper and let them cool and harden.

Prepare ingredients:

Crush the cooled nuts with a rolling pin. Chop the cranberries and mix them with the nuts. Finely chop the parsley.

Roll cheese balls:

Cut the goat cheese into small pieces. Roll the cheese pieces in the nut-cranberry mixture and parsley. Form them into small balls.

Serve:

For a special touch, you can insert a pretzel stick into each ball—it looks great and makes them even more convenient for snacking. Now all you have to do is arrange them on a plate and enjoy.

Why you'll love them:

These cheese balls are a wonderfully festive blend of sweet, spicy, and creamy. Perfect for anyone who wants to try something new without spending hours in the kitchen. They're also a great addition to your Advent specialties and a real highlight on the plate.

Try it out and liven up the Christmas season! 🎄 What variations can you think of? Share your ideas with us – we're excited!
