In Norse mythology, Dellingr was a personification of the dawn. Nott (the goddess of the night) and Dellingr had a son, Dagr. His parents gave Dagr two horses whose shining manes illuminate the entire earth, and two chariots that they placed high in the sky so that Dagr could ride across the sky all day and all night.
